The blue quintet is a group of talented current COD and Elmhurst University musicians, all recipients of awards. They have been involved in the jazz scene performing in multiple ensembles in venues such as Glen Ellyn jazz fest, the venue in Aurora and many others. This group brings the next generation of jazz musicians that bring modern influences to traditional roots of jazz as well as fusion and contemporary. The group features Alex Smith on bass, Francisco Huerta on trombone, Mateo Ramos on guitar, Vinicius Montevecchi on saxophone and Angel Gamardo on drums.
